Born and raised in Billingham near Middlesborough Gary left school at 16 years old to become a full time Lithographic printer and spent the next 7 years in full time employment,
In 1997 at 23 years old Gary went to Tenerife on holiday for 2 weeks and one night Gary was given an opportunity to go onstage to sing a couple of songs and after copious amounts of alcohol,the 2 songs tuned into 15 minutes of 'off the cuff' made up comedy with 2 songs sang in his own unique madcap style.

After an invite from a bar owner,it was time for Gary to move to his new life in the sun.
The following 9 years Gary enjoyed the Holiday lifestyle and at the same time turned his hand to many forms of entertaining including Party DJ-Foam Party DJ-Comedy Compere-Hosting night excursions including playing the part of Host 'WEE WILLY GOBSTOPPER' at the popular Adults excursion The 'PYGAMA PARTY,The headmaster at the 18-30 excursion 'SKOOL DISCO' and the leading part of 'CAPTAIN REDBLOOD' at the family show 'PIRATES ATTACK' Tenerife.
finally Gary spent the last 3 years in Tenerife doing what he does best..stand up comedy entertaining the crowds as Gary Gobstopper 'Blue and Unstoppable'.

 

 

 

 

In 2007 Gary,with his partner Claire were invited to work at a purpose built Entertainment venue in Gran Canaria called Paradise Lost and again,Gary was on stage every-night managing the Entertainment and doing whatever was required to keep audiences from 200 to 900 people happy.

After 1 season an opportunity came for Gary to manage the entertainment and Host the 250+ capacity BARBACOA SHOWBAR in Puerto Rico.
Working on stage 6 nights a week keeping to audiences happy with his none stop zany humour and unusual song choices,Gary was enjoying the challenges this venue provided and along with compering,there was a lot more to his versatility.
Gary was then responsible for co-writing and starring in many shows including the extremely popular 'Boyz R Uz' comedy boy-band,'The Rockets' comedy rock n roll show and Drunk N Disorderly' comedy drag show.

 

 

 

 

Although he was happy,Gary still missed his Adult comedy and after spending many years in the Barbacoa entertaining families with his clean comedy and song n dance routines,he was still frustrated.
Whilst on holiday with his good friend and owner of the Barbacoa Andy,they discussed Gary's frustration so Andy suggested that as Gary was the 'Face' of the venue,a disguise was required for his adult show.

"I grew up listening to and watching Chubby Brown, he was my idol as a child and as an adult" says Gary,

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

To do a tribute to Chubby was an easy decision and CHUBBY GC was created.
The shows popularity became as such,the show was to be performed twice a week and in the summer months,Chubby GC was performing to over 350 people and was then invited to perform in various parts of the UK.
Gary took his tribute to the UK to perform for 2 shows per visit then flying back to the sun then over the last 2 years the demand for the show in the UK was so big,Gary found himself flying back to perform as often as every 3 weeks.
In February 2015,a decision was made by Gary and his partner to return to the UK full time and in April this year,Gary returned with both his Chubby GC tribute and his Gary Gobstopper show and is now touring the UK and Ireland.
